A Thoughtful Transformation in Lexington: Butler’s Pantry, Laundry Room, and Primary Bath
This Lexington remodel reimagines a series of spaces to blend functionality with character, creating a home that supports both everyday living and quiet moments of retreat. Designed by Jane Face and brought to life by Blackdog’s Salem team, the project includes a butler’s pantry, an adjacent laundry room, and an upstairs bathroom, each space crafted with careful attention to detail.
The butler’s pantry serves as a hardworking extension of the kitchen, with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry from PLATO that offers ample storage for entertaining essentials. Creamy cabinetry with rich wood interiors warm up the open shelving, making it easy to display cookbooks and glassware without feeling cluttered. A sleek, built-in coffee station adds an extra layer of convenience for morning routines and late-night gatherings. The space is grounded by a bold black-and-white checkerboard floor, balancing classic charm with playful energy.
Step through to the laundry room, where function meets fun. Wallpaper with a vibrant butterfly motif adds unexpected personality, proving that practical spaces can still feel special. Cabinetry matches the butler’s pantry for continuity, and the same checkerboard flooring connects the two spaces, making the transition feel seamless.
Upstairs, the primary bathroom offers a peaceful retreat, with a freestanding tub perfectly framed by a trio of large windows. This placement fills the room with natural light and creates a serene spot to unwind. A custom double vanity in warm wood tones brings natural texture into the space, while polished floors and counters lend an elegant finish. In the shower, glass doors and tile maintain an airy, open feel, complete with a built-in bench for added comfort. Thoughtfully placed fixtures and warm brass accents bring just the right amount of sparkle without overwhelming the calm, neutral palette.
This remodel balances beauty and practicality across all three spaces, making each room not only more functional but also more reflective of the homeowners’ personal style.
